Portland Guide 1/2

One of the things that excites me most about living in a new place is all the weekend trips! We made the 3 hour drive down to Portland over Martin Luther King Jr. day weekend and it was honestly so much fun! I am totally sold on Portland and want to go back ASAP. There was amazing art everywhere, and the food was SO good. Oh, and the people were really nice, too. 10/10 trip overall!

We stayed at this Airbnb (super affordable) and it was in the prettiest neighborhood, that I am obviously now convinced I need to move to lol. Anyway, here's a little guide to what we did and what you should do too!

Bainbridge Film 4 Years Later Lol

I have like 5 rolls of film that I have had for the past 6 years. I don't have any idea anymore what's on each roll, so it was fun to pick one at random and find out it was full of pictures from my uncle's wedding on Bainbridge Island, WA 4 years ago! Look how young Jake looks lol.

Other (digital) pictures from that trip here, here, here, and here.

Labor Day Weekend

We went to my grandma's house for Labor Day weekend! I had one client on Friday morning and Jake worked until noon and then we headed out! It was so fun to be able to drive a few hours and be in Spokane!

I got my bangs trimmed on Thursday and am making a commitment to never cut my own bangs again haha. Don't do it. Just find someone who does free bang trims!

Also, look at these words of inspiration I found in a gas station bathroom lol.

We ran into some traffic and ended up getting there around 6:00pm. We met my mom at my grandma's house and had a yummy little dinner! It was so funny, we were talking about my grandma's Alexa and she was telling us, "Sometimes I'll ask Alexa... how tall is... Frank Sinatra?" lmao. And then my mom was showing us how Alexa can play a game where it makes noises and you guess the animal and she was like, "Alexa, play the animal game." And Alexa was like, "Ok. Think of an animal and I'll guess what it is in 20 questions or less." And my grandma turned around and under her breath said, "That's what happens when you live alone." hahahahahaha. I am laughing just typing that hahah.

New York City: Day 3

Wow I am so late blogging these pictures!!

Our last day in New York we got chicken and waffles from Sweet Chick, pizza from Prince Street, cookies from Pick A Bagel (where a little boy projectile vomited inches from Jake's back lol) and then went home! It was a good quick trip!

New York City: Day 2

Our second day in New York was so fun! Before we talk about anything else, please note how tan my legs are hahaha. I use this tanning stuff and I would honestly die for it.

We started with breakfast at Sarabeth's, which I would say is good but also maybe not worth the hype everyone gives it! (Kneader's has such good French toast it is hard to compare haha.) Also, I wasn't crazy about the atmosphere, which is usually the thing that will tip it for me if I am on the fence.

New York City: Day 1

Jake went to New York for business, so naturally I tagged along (free hotel helloooo).

Arizona!

So we went out to Arizona for J's cousin's wedding on Saturday and it was really fun! The flight itself was pretty scary, just because it was so snowy and it took a while for the plan to be ready to take off. Oh, and then the flight was pretty turbulent, like so much so that they didn't serve us drinks haha.

But, once we got there it was fun! I was able to meet up with my friend, Beverly, who I have been online friends with for probably 10 years! Whenever we are in the same state we try to meet up! This time, we got In N Out, went to Barnes and Nobles and got gelato! It's always so fun to meet up with friends!

This is the last day from our trip to California!

We got donuts from Donut Bar in the morning and they were so good! They had so many cool flavors and even this cute unicorn donut!

01.01.19 - Disneyland!

So this was my first time in Disneyland since I was literally 8 years old. I didn't really have any expectations, and it was actually a lot more fun than I was thinking it would be! We went on pretty much all the rides on my list (my sister gave me a list lol) and got to try so many treats! The treats were my favorite part lol.

These churros were so good! Also right after this we went Soarin' Over The World which was really cool and the Car's ride which was definitely my favorite. We did that fast pass thing, and it was cool and helped things go a lot faster I think!

I got the bread bowl from this Cafe and it was seriously so good! You can see them making the sourdough bread too which was really cool.

We split up for a bit and J and I went on Space Mountain which was actually probably my least favorite. It was just jerky and dark the whole time?

This tigger tail from the Winnie The Pooh area was my favorite! I almost didn't get it because I thought it was going to just be chocolate and caramel covered marshmallows, but it was actually orange flavored chocolate and caramel which made it SO GOOD. It seriously tasted like a creamsicle and was probably my favorite treat of the trip!

We got the mint julep drink and Mickey beignets from the New Orlean's area and they were both so good too!

We did more rides and then did dinner at Flo's, which was a lot better than I was expecting! I just got a burger and fries.

We only got crappy iPhone photos together, but I don't mind!

These macarons were another of my favorite treats! I also almost didn't get these, because I haven't been super craving macarons for a while, but I did just for the experience and they were for sure the best macarons I have ever had! The filling is raspberries, so it makes them really fresh and not too sweet. For sure a must try!

And, that was our trip to Disneyland! It was really fun and I would definitely go again, which was something I probably wouldn't have said prior to this trip haha.

XOXO
