Hi there!

Hi! Welcome to my corner of the internet. I'm a 26 year old therapist, feminist, photographer, and shop owner currently living in Seattle, Washington. My shop, Dealign with Feelings, is geared toward destigmatizing and normalizing mental health. I'm biased, but I think we have some pretty cute stuff :) Click the "shop" tab to see what we've got! I mainly post about my travel and daily life on here. With other random musings thrown in. I post more frequently (and about more feminism) on my Instagram @emmycoletti, so make sure you're following me there. Thanks for stopping by!

the world's most spoiled dog

Ok, so Trixie seriously is the most spoiled dog of all time. I'm not even kidding! I got an email from Chewy asking if Trixie wanted to try their dog treats. So, now Trixie is getting treats delivered right to her doorstep. I don't even have treats delivered to my doorstep! Ha!

But in reality, taking pictures of Trixie is one of my favorite things to do. I am obsessed with her and she is so kind. She like, does whatever I want her to do and doesn't even care (usually). As a result of my intense boredom with life currently and also intense senioritis, I decided to do a fancy dinner photoshoot with her. Weirdly enough my mom and Jake didn't even think anything was that out of the norm when I set Trixie a place at the table haha. Is that a problem? Who knows.

I love cute food. I am excited to have little kids so I can make them cute birthday cakes and stuff all the time. They better appreciate it haha!

I also love this picture because it looks like she is smiling.

She is just like, patiently waiting for her plate to be cleared. Such a well-mannered pup, that one.

They also sent her this little chew toy, but she is so old she doesn't really play with anything. She layed down and went to sleep and we propped her head on it like a little pillow. It was seriously the cutest thing because she just stayed like that!

Anyway, she really is the most spoiled pup. She's a cutie though, so she deserves it.

joshua james!

So I've decided that Velour is the coolest venue. I've also decided that it's totally, 100% geared towards folk/indie/alternative/hipster musicians. Can you picture a scremo band performing there? Because I can not.

We waited in a forever long line and there were all these teenagers behind us being really annoying. Sometimes I don't feel like an adult, but then whenever I am around actual teenagers I'm like, "Ah. Yes... I am 21." I apologize to all the people I annoyed when I was a teenager! I guess it's just a rite of passage or something to be annoying.

Anyway, Joshua James is amazing and you need to discover him if you haven't already. He looks exactly like Jared Leto, also. Like, he came into Starbuck's one time when I was working there and I literally thought Jared Leto was in our store. I asked my co-worker if she knew who Jared Leto was and if that was him, and she was like, "Oh! His name starts with a J, but I don't remember it. And I think he actually is a musician!" So, I was convinced but alas. Not Jared Leto. Just a doppleganger. I wonder if we all have dopplegangers like they do in Vampire Diaries. Natalie is my apparent doppleganger. People would comment allllllll the time on it when I was in high school. "Are you Natalie's little sister?" Or, "Hi, Natalie! Wait..."

I guess I'm mainly just procrastinating my school work. But guess what? Here's what tests I have left until graduation:
- exercise science final (1)
- social work midterm and final (2)
- american heritage midterm and final (2)

LIKE 5 TESTS LEFT. I'm so close, you guys! Freedom is in view!! I have been making a list of all the things I want to do once I graduate and let me tell ya, it is going to be a v productive week or so. I'm just going to be cleaning, organizing, baking, and reading. The life!!

P.S. If you're not in the Friends IRL Facebook group: I am hosting another tea party at Dear Lizzie on April 18th at noon. If you would like to come please send me an email! It's $20 per person and you get tea, tea sandwiches, tiny scones, and tiny dessert cookies. It's the cutest thing you will ever do. Garaunteed.

if you can't bring you to the city, bring the city to you!

Ok so maybe the city I brought to myself is in the form of a t-shirt haha. Object Apparel had so much cute stuff I couldn't help it. But hey, it still helps with my permanent case of wanderlust! We actually have some fun trips planned for this year, so I'm really excited. I think it will help with trapped feelings! Basically all I do is plan places to go, ha!

I was trying to get Trixie to sit propped up like a human and she was 100% not having it.

Thank the heavens for Amber Fillerup and her braid tutorials. But like... really. I would be a hot mess without them. (Is that term dead or still socially appropriate?)

Oh, da bb clouds. How cute they are.

Also, today I officially started my paper chain for our move! We have no idea where we are going, but we are going! So, now that I can visually see how many days we have left (ok my paper chain is really long) it's so exciting! Sometimes I try to imagine life outside of Utah and it feels like trying to imagine what aliens look like. Like I know it will be cool and that I will love it, but I have no idea what to expect or count on, since it's never happened before! It will definitely be an adventure and I am getting so pumped just talking about it!

Some pictures of Trixie! I love the one of her mid-jump photo bomb. Haha!

Anyways, Object Apparel is really nice and wants to give $25 away to one of you cute people!

To enter:
- must be following my blog
- leave your email AND a place you have been dying to visit (I will probably be adding them all to my list, so no worries ha!)
- for an extra entry follow @objectapparel_detroit on Instagram (leave a separate comment if you do, please!)

The winner will be emailed directly. Good luck! You can browse their shop here and enter to win more cute stuff on their Instagram here. Oh, and also you can use the code "emmyjake15" to get 15% off anything in the store until the end of March.

Retail therapy, right? Haha no but seriously sometimes when I feel like I need a change something as simple as buying some new clothes, or trying out a new restaurant helps so much! I got a new hat at Target and I'm like, a whole new person haha. Anyway, back to the books!

P.S. I have no idea if my title is grammatically correct. I spent so much time try to find where I heard a similar quote and didn't have any luck. So, feel free to correct me.
