Hi there!

Hi! Welcome to my corner of the internet. I'm a 26 year old therapist, feminist, photographer, and shop owner currently living in Seattle, Washington. My shop, Dealign with Feelings, is geared toward destigmatizing and normalizing mental health. I'm biased, but I think we have some pretty cute stuff :) Click the "shop" tab to see what we've got! I mainly post about my travel and daily life on here. With other random musings thrown in. I post more frequently (and about more feminism) on my Instagram @emmycoletti, so make sure you're following me there. Thanks for stopping by!

Europe Trip: Amsterdam - Day 6

Day 6! I am excited to be done with all of these soon haha. I love having everything written down and being able to read it over again, but it is a pain to write!

Anyway, day 6 started with ensuring that my brother was, in fact, alive and well. Contrary to how this photo looks, he was!

Europe Trip: Amsterdam - Day 5

We decided to just walk everywhere because AMSTERDAM IS SO WALKABLE! I feel like it's what makes me like it more than Paris. I think it's like 30 minutes or less most everywhere? So doable. I love walking around in a new city.

On our walk to breakfast we saw this dutch cat that thought we were going to let it in to the building lol. And lots of other pretty things! Amsterdam was so pretty and fun to photograph.

Europe Trip: Amsterdam - Day 4

Day 4 was pretty chill. We had breakfast at Eric Kayser (again). I was feeling kinda sick this day, so I got tea and it was the cutest! Came with a little teapot and everything <3

Europe Trip: Paris - Day 3

This was our last day in Paris before we went to Amsterdam. We started the morning off with walking to Eric Kayser where I got some type of apple croissant and a hot chocolate. I am probably so American when I say this but I would have preferred Beans and Brews or Starbuck's pumpkin scone hahah. Like I said, the food in Paris wasn't too impressive to me! I love American foods haha. The walk was so pretty though with all the fall leaves and the perfect temperature.

Europe Trip: Paris - Day 2

Day 2 started off with walking to breakfast at Angelina! Along the way we saw cool street art and a fountain at Place de la Concorde.

Europe Trip: Paris - Day 1

Ok, let's get these posts started!

So we started our trip off in Paris, then went to Amsterdam, and then back to Paris to catch our flight home. Our trip started off so good. We flew out of the Salt Lake Airport (don't ask me how much my ticket was because it is PAINFUL after flying out of JFK hahah) and I kid you not: from the time J dropped us off to the time we were sitting and eating McDonald's waiting for our flight to board was *MAYBE* 5 minutes. There were absolutely NO LINES and it was so good!

Also we saw my mom at the airport? Like she was literally on the same flight as us. How weird huh!!!

Mexico Day 5

This was our last day! We ate breakfast at Blue Gecko and I would DEFINITELY recommend the breakfast burrito.

Like all the other days, we spend most of the day at the pool.

We ate dinner at Gustino, one of the hotel restaurants. It was so cute. They had a girl playing an instrument there (don't ask me which one) and she had blue hair and was the neatest person. They brought us out the cutest surprise dessert for our anniversary and gave J a rose to give to me lol. Other things they did that I didn't photograph was bring out a little cheese, apple, and meat board and a "palette cleansing" ice cream.

All in all, it was a nice trip! It was nice to just sit back and relax by the pool all day. Now we are back in Utah and trying to get our house arranged and cleaned! Our bed actually came earlier this week but the box was SUPER damaged and so was the bed inside, so we are having to send it back and get a replacement! I think I am going to get this couch from Wal-Mart (I know but it is actually so cute!) next month though and I am so excited. I think it will be so cute!

Mexico Day 4

Can you tell I loved our view? It was so pretty! I love being by the ocean, which is so weird because I am so scared of open water lol. But I really loved living near the water in Connecticut and would love a lake house in Washington one day.

We went to the mall and walked around a bit. I got this cute tank top (idk why they don't have purple on their site, it's so much cuter) there as my souvenir. We also went to Mexican Starbuck's and got breakfast. They had a blueberry frappuccino that was pretty good and COOKIE STRAWS. I feel like I haven't seen them recently, but maybe I am just missing them? Anyway, they are so good haha.

We laid out and read more. We ate lunch at the hotel again. I got a Caesar salad and J got a steak quesadilla. Both were alright, BUT THE DINNER WE HAD THIS NIGHT YOU GUYS. I AM SO EXCITED TO TALK ABOUT IT. Just wait!

Ok yeah and they gave us this complimentary ceviche which was interesting? There were little octopus tentacles that gave me a frighten.

Ok blah blah there was this cute little light guard stand that I loved.

Ok wait this is kind of cool. So we found this huge shell! It seemed like too big to be real? I thought it was fake, but it was also banged up kind of? Anyway, if any shell experts wanna tell me if this is real or not that would be great. J was like, "Hey cool! Take a picture so we don't have to take it home." lol.

So, we ate dinner at this placed called Porfirio's. They brought out this little chips and salsa at the beginning. It was pretty good and the chips were huge, which was fun.

I got the pork tacos and J got the steak (?) tacos. Mine weren't that good but also not bad? Mostly I am not a huge meat lover, so I think that impacts my judgment sometimes. But anyway, they were cute and little and easy to eat, which goes a long way with me.

OK SO THESE CHURROS. If you do nothing else in Cancun ever, GET THESE CHURROS. They were SO GOOD. AND LOOK AT THAT CART THEY COME ON. Anyway, guys, I am so obsessed with them. The different dipping sauces were vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and caramel. But maybe the cutest part was that little jug you see. It was hot chocolate! How cute! For dipping the churros!

Anyway, these churros made the whole trip.

Mexico Day 3

Day 3 was good! We ate the hotel for breakfast, although it was like 11:00 so it was more like lunch?
J's club sandwich was so good! I was weirdly craving a burger so bad, so I got one! #IntuitiveEatingFTW It was pretty good as well.

Pretty much all we did this whole trip was swim, layout, and eat. It was so bright though! I had to do double glasses lol.

Ok so my memory card broke the night before this :(. It's totally my fault because I plug it into my computer, but then will have my computer on my lap so it like, slightly bends the card. And after all these years of being slightly bent it just broke completely! I was way sad but weirdly this convenience store by our hotel had a memory card. We looked all over the story and couldn't find any, so I asked the girl at the front desk if they had them and she turned this twirly thing that was on top of a bookcase and pulled one off the hook in the back! Haha I was so happy they had one!

After that we went to McDonald's. I got chicken nuggets and they were not good. Actually, the fries weren't that good either!

We then went back to our hotel and hung out a bit! We just read more and walked along the beach. Overall, it was a v chill and fun day!

I know I said it before, but this book was SO GOOD.

Mexico Day 2

Ok, so day 2 was much better haha. Like I said yesterday, I slept for maybe 3 hours and then woke up and laid in bed until sunrise. I wanted to watch it from the roof, but it was actually pretty cloudy and I couldn't see anything lol.

This day was also J's birthday!! I read (by the way, The Fever 10/10, go read it!) until he woke up. We also did a birthday thing here in Utah yesterday, which I'll post about when I get done with all the Mexico posts!

I figured since we were going back to Cancun this day, we could go and do the essential Tulum things on my list, so I wouldn't feel like I was missing out on anything. We saw this cute sleeping kitty twice on our way to breakfast haha. What a life!

So we went to breakfast at Raw Love, which was ok? It was very much health food, if you're into that, which I am not. On the way back, we passed "Matcha Mama" and there was a blogger taking photos in front of it (like she had taken a taxi there and had the taxi stopped so she could take photos lmao).

Anyway, I overall felt like maybe Instagram had ruined Tulum. It just felt really like, Instagram-y and like that's the reason why people go there lol. I felt like a lot of it was dirty and felt kind of like the middle of nowhere? Which like, I guess what was I expecting lol.

We went to the beach for a while. Once again very underwhelming lol. There was a lot of seaweed and the water was pretty brown. We laid out for a bit on a part of the beach with less seaweed before heading off to Cancun.

The whole way back to Cancun I was scared we were going to get kidnapped lol so I didn't sleep in the car (it was a 2 hour drive). Getting back to Cancun was so nice! And to be in a hotel that had air conditioning!! It was amazing.

J requested tacos for his birthday dinner, so we went to Blue Gecko. It was really good! We actually went back on a few other occasions. This time we got the chips and guac (I think? If I didn't take a picture did it really happen lol) and J got the Korean tacos. They were ok but we did go back and get different dishes I would recommend!

At the end of the night when we were getting treats, they gave us this free ice cream for our anniversary! (This whole trip was a belated anniversary present to each other.) How cute!

Overall, day 2 was so good!
