Today I woke up early to get Tucker to see it had snowed! Just a day late haha.

We are training Tucker to get up later by not feeding him until an hour later, and he did pretty good this morning! I feel like he definitely whined less and at a later time (6:40am compared to 6:00am). And then I just got ready and didn't feed him for an hour and he just went back to bed! So, let's hope that works out. I feel like living in an apartment after this wouldn't be that bad if he slept in later. Getting up really early in the morning to take him out in Connecticut was the worst!

Look how pretty our street was in the snow!

I ended up having a lot of clients cancel, so I went to Olive Garden with my mom for lunch, which was so fun! We were paying on the little machine on the table (so futuristic lol) and the waitress came up and started clearing the table right as my mom was about to add the tip lol. I was trying SO HARD not to laugh and bust up once she left lol.

I came home early since I had cancellations and finished some work at home before heading to my other job. Tucker does these really cute little cuddles for like 5 seconds lol, but they are cute while they last!

I was only at my other job for a half hour though, because I had a no show! So I came home, cleaned a little, and made these Trader Joe's brie bites that are SO GOOD. Not sponsored lol. Just good.

Christmas Things

Merry Christmas! Here's a few pics from the past two days.

We did my family's Christmas traditions the day before Christmas Eve. We had dinner and played our traditional games! Does anyone else play 7/11 or the wrapping paper game? They are so fun lol. My mom also added in an "adult memory" game where you flip over paper plates to get matches and then get to choose prizes. It was really fun! I was also v glad that we did things the day before, because with my and J's family living here things can get really crazy really fast. So it was nice to not having everything in the same day!

Also this is my niece in her doctor set lol. I was her patient and she was very stern and wouldn't let me get up lol.

Christmas Eve morning we went to Kneader's for breakfast. I was so sad/happy because the girl came to tell us they didn't have croissants and asked us what other bread we would want our sandwiches on, but then when she brought them out told us they found more croissants lol. They have a rosemary focaccia which I was hoping was like the buns at the Dinosaur Museum (if you know, you know!) so I was kind of sad to not find out lol. Also, for any Kneader's insiders, please let me know where they get their orange juice! It's so good!

That night, we went to J's parents house for dinner and gifts. This year it was just J and his immediate family which was really fun. Afterward, we headed to J's work to grab snacks (mostly we just do this because it's fun to drive around), tried to look at Christmas lights but everyone was a Scrooge and didn't have any, opened our Christmas pajama presents (well, I got J slippers), drank hot chocolate, and watched Elf. It was super chill and fun!

I love being in my own home for holidays! Last year we were in Ireland for actual Christmas and Christmas Eve and it was kind of sad! So it was nice to be in our own home this year.

We even got Tucker to cuddle with us for a few minutes!

This was also our first Christmas with Tucker since he was with a sitter last year! I packed his stocking and he totally peeked haha. He was so cute on Christmas morning though and was playing with all his toys at the same time lol.

Christmas Day we had more hot chocolate, ate cinnamon rolls and went to see The Mule. (Which was ok but also could have ended better, IMO). We decided to just eat at home but J put frozen vegetables in a pan with high heat oil and all this steam came off and threw me into a panic lol. So that was a not so fun way to end the day! But I eventually calmed down (I am very scared of the fire alarm going off for some reason) and we watched Dexter, which was fun!

All in all, it was a good Christmas! It didn't snow which I didn't mind. (It actually snowed today, the day after Christmas!) All in all, it was good but I am definitely very excited for out future Christmases outside of Utah! I know I sound like a broken record, but it's how I feel so I'll continue to talk about it haha. I also need these blog posts as a record of what it was like living here again so I don't forget!

Life Lately

Thursday, December 20, 2018
I am very behind on blogging so here is a huge photo dump!

We tried The Dodo a few weeks ago and I have such mixed feelings! It was good, but I thought it was going to be a lot better than it was? This ham and cheese sandwich was very delicious though, and I weirdly ate it as leftovers the next day which is something I literally NEVER do haha. I got this dessert thing that was ok, but had nuts in it which isn't my favorite haha. Anyway, if you love this restaurant, let me know what you get! I hear such good things and feel like I maybe just got the wrong thing.

We had our first snow of the season! It is so fun to have a backyard this winter because Tucker LOVESSSSS the snow haha.

Tried some donut fries from Dunkin' Donuts. They were not good haha.

So I don't know if I have talked about this before? But basically I am doing this thing where I am reading for the same amount of hours I spent on my phone lol. I initially was just going to do it for one month, but it has taken me way longer than one month to read for as many hours as I spent on my phone for one month lol. I am almost done though! I only have a few days left!

Anyway, this book was the cutest! It is a movie now on Netflix which is ok... but definitely not as good as the book! It was such a cute and fun read. Definitely recommend!

Also idk if I talked about this either, but we tried to get some apple cider donuts from Rowley's Red Barn but the lady who made them didn't show up to work that day lmao so I made some myself and they were actually really good! I posted the recipe and more photos on my food blog.

J kept making jokes about Lubraderm and me being obsessed with lotion. A few hours later I asked him to bring me my lotion and a few minutes later he brought me this lol.

J taking pictures of his new computer build lol.

Look at this sunrise the other day on my way to work!

I had a booth up at Beehive Bazaar and was so scared! I ended up selling enough to pay my expenses and a little extra, so that was nice!

One day I cam home to Tucker fresh out of the bath because J thought he was too dirty from the snow lol.

Look how cute these Scooby Doo cookies are!

For a while there we were keeping our house temperature pretty cold and Tucker got so curled up haha.

I was obsessed with these for a few days! So good! Now I am over them haha.

We went on a little weekend excursion for J's work and all I wanted was cereal so they brought this up at 10:00pm haha. It was so good. We ended up leaving early the next day because I was having such bad anxiety.

Post anxiety sleeping for hours. Tucker came in and slept with me lol. So cute!

I also caught him all curled up in the craft room by the Christmas tree lol.

Tucker does this new thing where he rests his head on you when he wants attention lol.

P.S. Here are some things that made me happy today and yesterday: Opening my birthday presents / Finishing my alpaca / Getting a gift from work / When my supervisor pronounced vegan as "vay-gan" / Quitting my job

A Weirdly Depressing Birthday Review But That's Life So Let's Do It?

Wednesday, December 19, 2018
So, today is my birthday! I thought it would be fun to look back on what I have done the past year but it actually made me feel really sad downloading all these photos, so let's see if writing this post out will change my mood around!

Dec 2017 - My 24th year of life started out well enough in Ireland, which was AMAZING AND I THINK ABOUT SO OFTEN.

Jan 2018 - I came back from Christmas break and asked my internship supervisor what was new to which she replied, "Nothing much! Well, we are closing the program." lol. I had 5 months left! Long story short, my school didn't want to give me a new internship so I ended up staying there and having 2 clients lmao. Such a joke! At least once my program closed I got to move to an office out of the basement lol.

Mar 2017 - Took a solo trip to visit my grandma in Washington!

Mar 2017 - Went to Philadelphia for one day and left Tucker with the creepiest dog sitter EVER (even ask J) and felt sooooo bad about. It was a traumatic experience for us both!! When we picked him up, he laid in my lap and cuddled for hours! :( He never does that and I felt sooo bad. Ever since then I am so picky about his sitters lol.

April 2017 - Debated where to live for MONTHS and scouted out...

Portland...

Seattle...

and Denver...

May 2017 - Finished my internship (THANK THE HEAVENS) and graduated with my master's in social work from NYU, before packing up our bags...

Shipping all our stuff to Seattle... driving across the country... and moving to...

UTAH!

Where my life has been at a stand still ever since. (Joking but also not joking lol). I never thought I would move back to Utah, but then I got swayed because I wanted J to get to experience this cool job offer he got. Needless to say, after living here for 6 months, it has solidified my desire to never live here again lol. It is just NOT the place for me! Alas, the things we do because we are concerned about what others will think lol. #neveragain.

July 2017 - Celebrated our 5 year anniversary in Mexico and had my first panic attack/complete breakdown over how hot it was in our Airbnb. (Although it lasted for so long I feel it wasn't solely a panic attack, but rather an actual overheating.) Begged my father-in-law for some Marriot points and ended up having a nice time lol. (Thank you PC!)

July 2017 - Started my first therapy jobs! My one therapy job is one of the only reasons I am still in Utah! I love it so much. I am not kidding you when I say it is ONE OF THE FEW REASONS I AM STILL IN UTAH. It is such a good job to be getting my hours at, I really am so lucky! Any other CSW job would pale in comparison for sure!

My other job is so-so. Basically what you could expect haha.

July 2017 - Moved into our first house with a nick backyard for T! It is SO NICE being able to put him in a backyard all day!

September 2017 - Went to Amsterdam and Paris with my mom, brother, and his girlfriend. I LOVED Amsterdam! Was iffy on Paris, but would go back to Amsterdam in a heartbeat!

Andddd now we are here to December! I would say 24 was good because I finished my schooling and  was able to finally be a therapist! (Now just 2 more years to be fully licensed... why is this an 8 year process?!) I would also say that as much as I have hated living in Utah, it has been good because I can say that I honestly gave it a second chance!

Anyway, I feel like this is a weird note to end on for a birthday post, but also it's the true tone of my life the past 6 months. It has just really sucked, to be honest haha. I have loved the trips I have gone on anddddd that's about it! So, let's hope 25 brings me FINALLY moving out of Utah and continuing to get my full licensure!

Ok, I am feeling better writing all of this out. Weird how that helps! Now, let's set some goals for 25!
- MOVE OUT OF UTAH
- be at least 50% done with licensure hours
- go on at least 2 fun trips (as of now I am thinking Portland and Scandinavia)
- learn a new skill
- take a college class (I really want to do political science or motivational interviewing)
- solidify some fun holiday traditions, just J and I
- save some $$$ for a down payment on a house
- say no to more things
- don't feel guilty for saying no to things (I REALLY need to work on this haha)
- leash train Tucker

Ok, that's all I've got for now! We'll see how it goes haha.

XOXO
